About Montauk Youth:

Montauk Youth Inc.’s mission is to organize affordable and accessible recreational and cultural activities for the youth of Montauk. Montauk Youth Inc. seeks to provide this programming by organizing activities outright and by working with other youth groups in Montauk and with the Town of East Hampton to fill gaps in community youth programming. We are a nonprofit, all-volunteer, organization that has been organizing activities for the youth of Montauk for over 40 years. Membership is open to all. Programs are funded through a Town grant and through nominal participation fees.

Montauk Youth’s St. Pat’s Parade Float

Hi All,

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is almost here!

With Sharon Prince and her team of helpers putting the last touches on Montauk Youth’s parade float and Montauk Youth’s Funk Squad putting in extra practices for Sunday’s BIG event, it’s time to send you some participation details.

For those joining us on the float (Funk Squad participants will receive an email directly from Joy), please arrive at the parade start by 11am (you may want to get there earlier as the roads can sometimes be closed to traffic leading up to the parade). We do not know exactly where our float will be at the starting line-up – look and ask for us near the Firehouse. The float will be in place by 9:45 and Sharon could use set up help beginning then – email us if you can.

*Anyone can join the float* – if you helped at float meetings, great. If you weren’t able to participate in float meetings and want to ride on the float anyway, that’s great, too. We have necklaces and tootsie rolls to throw to the crowds, and will accept donations of throw items as well. Don’t forget to wear green, or dress as your favorite rock star – and please dress for cold weather (my forecast shows sunny and high 30s). *Our theme is Montauk Youth Rocks.*

The parade ends near IGA. We will park as close to there as possible. Please meet us there to pick up your child as soon as we finish (or, ride with us on the float from the beginning).

We are looking for people to join our “Rock”ettes squad. Interested? Let us know ASAP!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Maureen Montauk Youth
